Commercial hail netting for orchards and vineyards. Four HAILERA™ systems — Diamond Lock, Drape, Leno and Triangle Hail Netting — made from 100% virgin HDPE in our own factory and exported worldwide, including to Australia and New Zealand.

Four HAILERA™ systems, all made from 100% virgin HDPE in our own factory. The right one depends on how your canopy is built and how long the net needs to stay up.

According to a Washington State University trial, 92% of netted 'Granny Smith' apples had no sunburn damage, versus 51% in the open block (Kalcsits et al., 2018, Acta Horticulturae 1228, doi:10.17660/ActaHortic.2018.1228.11). Apple sunburn begins at fruit-surface temperatures of about 46–52 °C (Schrader et al., 2001, Plant Health Progress, doi:10.1094/PHP-2001-1004-01-RS) — the shade under a hail net is what keeps fruit below it.
KLY = kilolangleys of UV exposure the net is rated for. Match it to your region's annual UV load — how KLY works.
B2B wholesale only — for orchardists, vineyards, distributors and installers.
Most damaging hail in Australia and New Zealand falls in spring and summer. Nets need to be on site before the season starts, so the order is best placed in winter.
Southern-hemisphere orchards get roughly 130–175 KLY of sunshine a year — 40–90% more than Western Europe — so a net built for European sun ages faster here. Multiply your region's annual KLY by the years you want the net to last, then compare it with the UV rating of each net in the table above.
| Region | KLY per year | KLY for 8 years | KLY for 10 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stanthorpe, QLD | 162 | 1,300 | 1,620 |
| Batlow, NSW | 150 | 1,200 | 1,500 |
| Manjimup, WA | 148 | 1,180 | 1,480 |
| Nelson, NZ | 131 | 1,050 | 1,310 |
| Hawke's Bay, NZ | 129 | 1,030 | 1,290 |
KLY needed before any safety margin. Annual KLY = long-term average GHI from the Global Solar Atlas (World Bank / Solargis) ÷ 11.62, cross-checked against NASA POWER 2001–2020.
Production takes 30–40 days once your specification is confirmed, then the nets travel by sea from Shanghai. To install before spring, confirm width, colour and grade around June–July.
We sell FOB Shanghai and quote sea freight to your nearest port — for example Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Auckland, Tauranga or Napier.
The complete guide covers netting types, KLY ratings, installation systems and the return on a hail net.
It depends on the canopy. For a fixed structure that stays up all year, Diamond Lock Hail Netting is built for it. If light reaching colour-critical fruit matters most, crystal Leno Hail Netting lets most of the light through. For netting that goes on and comes off with the season, choose Drape Hail Netting.
Service life follows the UV rating. Our nets are rated from 500 KLY (Drape Hail Netting, 3-year warranty) to 1,500 KLY (Diamond Lock Hail Netting, up to 10-year pro-rata warranty). Choose a rating that matches the UV load where the net will be installed.
Yes. We export to Australia and New Zealand. Our primary trade term is FOB Shanghai, and we quote sea freight to your port together with your order.
Yes. Every order is custom production, and the specification — width, length, colour and grade — is confirmed with you before production begins. Drape Hail Netting and Triangle Hail Netting come in 2–6 m widths as standard.
Most netting suppliers stop at the net and leave you sourcing clips and wire elsewhere. We machine the complete fastening system in-house — so what holds your netting up comes from the same factory floor.
